What is Microsoft Viva Connections?
Microsoft Viva Connections is a branded app within the Microsoft Teams system that’s powered by Microsoft 365 and built to enhance experiences and improve the business environment for frontline workers and information teams. The platform can be used alongside other functionalities within programs like SharePoint, Yammer and Teams.
Viva Connections functions like a SharePoint news intranet site, but with the added benefit of existing within Teams. This means all information is in one place, and your employees don’t need to leave the program. Once you’ve set it up correctly (which our team of expert SharePoint developers can help with), it will add a link to Teams within the SharePoint App Bar and navigation for easy access.

Within the desktop experience, Viva Connections uses your SharePoint intranet home site to create a branded app inside Teams. Within this desktop version, your employees can:

- Navigate to sites and sources that are important to the business
- Use internal resources and intranet tools within the Teams interface
Microsoft Viva Connections app for mobile
Available for mobile devices both Android and on iOS, the Viva Connections app contains the Viva Connections Dashboard, the Connections Feed and other Resources.
The app allows users to view either a curated experience (where content displayed is chosen by the administrator or site owner, for example on the home site-based personalised Dashboard), or a tailored experience (where content is automatically chosen based on what is the most relevant to users based on interests, job role, habits and more, for example in the Feed).
